cartoon

I think this cartoon says it all. these theories are simple unfactual and fabricated by uneducated people. We shouldn't be questioning if this event was a lie but rather working to make sure those people died with a purpose; to end terrorism.

what if?

Younge children often ask the question, what if this happened? Or what if i would have done this? These are inanswerable questions. People who believe in conspiracy theories are asking this question. What if the government tricked us what if they wanted thousands of people to die!? these are illogical and unrational. It is highly doubtful that the government would do this and if it has yet to be discovered that they did do it then it probably never will be.

Final Post

Ones mind set is key in how they learn and process new information. My goal for this topic was to keep and open mind and learn as much about this topic as possible. As this project comes to a close i would like to believe that I have a synthesizing mind. After i have learned so much about these common conspiracy theories, I have made my own well informed disicion. This decision is that people who claim conspiracy are outlandish and paranoid, but I am proud to say I need listen to their argument.

This topic was new for me. Never before had i studied conspiracy theory, especially those the United States was blamed of. I demonstrated a sense of curiosity to learn more about these topics (the holocaust and September 11 specifically). I worked to research both points of views in order to learn as much about these topics as i could in order to make the correct decision. While trying to see the opposite point of view, i challenged my own beliefs and reached out of my comfort zone. I think that while using these three tasks i have widened my view of the world.

Creating a blog was also a new experience for me. I have never been technology sauvy so editing and uploading things to my blog was at first a challenge. Fortunately, over the past few weeks I have learned not only about my topic but have become more fluent on the computer. I can now successfully upload pictures and videos. I think this blog was a learning experience in more than one way.

September 11th Conspiracy

The second conspiracy i chose to discuss is the terrorist attack on September 11th. I found this conspiracy to be equally ridiculous. Many people claim different forms of conspiracy relating to this topic. Examples of these are shown in the video bar above. What i found most shocking was how much distrust people who believe in these conspiracies have for the government and those who are in charge. I personally can not comprehend why the United States government would willingly choose to murder millions of Americans and loose millions of dollars all for the sake of oil. I also do not believe it is possible that something like that couls have been planned by the president or another Authoritative figure with out somebody telling the media. As ridiculous as these theories are it is interesting to learn how others view the world we live in and to make our own informed decisions.

David Irving

David Irving was born in London, 1938. He wrote many publications and books about World War two. David Irving is one of the few Holocaust deniers who has gained world wide "popularity". Unfortunately for Irving, it wasn't the good kind of popularity. Irving mostly gained media time through his numerous law suits and by joining controversial groups that have supported the idea of being a Holocaust denier. The governments of Canada, Austria, Germany and Australia have barred Irving from entering their countries. He has been convicted of defaming the memory of the dead in Germany and has lost civil suits in England and the United States. His most significant legal battle ended unsuccessfully in April 2000 when a British court ruled that American historian Deborah Lipstadt had not libeled Irving when she called him a Holocaust denier. Because of this latest law suit, it is unlikely that Irving will ever receive the publicity he used too.

The Holocaust

I want to begin my research with the Holocaust conspiracy theory because it was a major historical event in America. Like September eleventh, the holocaust changed the modern perspective on how war is fought. For example, before world war two Americans could never have imagined concentration camps. Further more, before September eleventh Americans would never have expected a popular American city to be attacked by terrorist who would suicidally crash plains into important buildings. The Holocaust killed millions of people by torture and unthinkable murders. American soldiers stopped this suffering when they fought in WWII and they prevented these concentration camps from spreading and even possibly coming to America. The survivors of those concentration camps would never forget how American soldiers saved their lives and neither should we. that is why i think it is most important to remember The sacrifice American soldiers have made for us through out history and to never diminish their sacrifice with ridiculous theories.
